What Is Sustainable Philanthropy?

The WEPT team believes that every dollar is a seed planted, and that seed needs to be watered and cultivated in order to grow and develop in it’s natural environment. Common sense approaches invested into community economic development initiatives that are both sustainable and effective is a better solution if we ever hope to turnaround the standards living where it’s needed most.

How Do I Know My Donations Will Be Put To Good Use?

WEPT embraces a healthy obsession for accountability, proper planning, and sustainable development solutions. We use the cost benefit analysis model. Ensuring funding is being put to use as intended and to track performance reviews. In order to provide a basis for comparing projects. That way we see whether the benefits outweigh the costs, and if they’re justified.

Where Do My Donations Go?

Fundraising is dispersed in relation to the size and scope of the project from the initiatives that are sponsored. The projects have to undergo certain guidelines. These campaigns and projects have to be renewable and have the ability to become self-sufficient.

What Is Social Entrepreneurship?

Social entrepreneurship is the process of pursuing innovative solutions to social problems. More specifically, social entrepreneurs adopt a mission to create and sustain social value (social enterprise). They pursue opportunities to serve this mission, while continuously adapting and learning. They draw upon appropriate thinking in both the business and nonprofit worlds and operate in all kinds of organizations: large and small; new and old; nonprofit, for-profit, and hybrid.

What Is Philanthropy?

Philanthropy means the “love of humanity” in the sense of caring, nourishing, developing and enhancing “what it is to be human” on both the benefactors’ (by identifying and exercising their values in giving and volunteering) and beneficiaries’ (by benefiting) parts. The most conventional modern definition is “private initiatives, for public good, focusing on quality of life.”

What Is Community Economic Development?

Community Economic Development (CED) is a multifaceted comprehensive approach to community change that is not limited to just poverty programs, nor is it synonymous with industrial recruitment. The WEPT is a strong advocate for specialization, defined as “an agreement within a community, group or organization under which the members most suited for a specific activity or task assume greater responsibility for its execution or performance.”

What Model Does WEPT Use On A Micro Level?

On a microeconomic level, WEPT uses a strengths based practice known as Appreciative Inquiry. “A method for studying and changing social systems that advocates collective inquiry into the best of what is in order to imagine what could be, followed by collective design of a desired future state that is compelling and thus, does not require the use of incentives, coercion or persuasion for planned change to occur.” The aim is to build and or rebuild educational centers around what works, rather than trying to fix what doesn’t. The most common Appreciative Inquiry model: DISCOVER: The identification of organizational processes that work well. DREAM: The envisioning of processes that would work well in the future. DESIGN: Planning and prioritizing processes that would work well. DESTINY: The implementation of the proposed design.

What Model Does WEPT Use On A Macro Level?

WEPT uses The People, Planet, Profit Model which serves and protects the Triple Bottom Line (TBL). Socially conscious initiatives, with endeavours that sustain and serve our people, create a difference all over the globe and earn the right to massive profit.
